Maritime operations have historically been the most fragmented corner of enterprise software. Does WHIZMarine handle full ship management operations?
Yes. WHIZMarine runs the complete ship-management lifecycle — technical management, crewing, planned maintenance, procurement, dry-dock coordination, vetting and audit preparation, owner reporting and budgeting. Designed for third-party ship managers handling multiple owners' fleets, with per-owner billing, segregated reporting and consolidated KPI dashboards.
How comprehensive is WHIZMarine's crew management?
Crew Management covers the full crew lifecycle — recruitment, certification tracking (STCW, flag-state, medical, vaccinations), MLC 2006 compliance, contract management, rotation planning, multi-currency payroll, manning agency coordination, training records and crew CV database. Includes a crew mobile app for self-service certificate uploads, rotation requests and document e-signing.
Does WHIZMarine handle ISM and ISPS compliance?
Yes. WHIZMarine maintains the ISM (Safety Management) and ISPS (Ship Security) documentation, audit trails, non-conformity reports, corrective actions and review cycles required by SOLAS and classification societies. Internal audit workflows are built in.
Does WHIZMarine support ship chandling operations?
Yes. The Ship Chandling module handles inquiry-to-delivery for marine supplies — quote management against vessel requisitions, stock management of consumables, spares and provisions, bonded warehousing, port-side delivery scheduling and customs clearance for ship stores. Used by chandlers serving deep-sea, coastal and offshore vessels.
Can WHIZMarine handle marine logistics with tugs and barges?
Yes. The Marine Logistics module manages tug-and-barge operations for transporting dry bulk, project cargo and oversized equipment to remote and infrastructure-limited locations. Covers multi-leg voyage planning, charter agreements (time / voyage / contract of affreightment), tow-permit and weather coordination, fuel and provisioning, lay-can management and revenue accounting.
Does WHIZMarine support charter operations (time, voyage, freight)?
Yes. WHIZMarine handles all standard maritime charter types — voyage charter (CIF/CFR/FOB), time charter (hire calculation, off-hire tracking, redelivery), bareboat charter, contract of affreightment (multi-voyage commitments) and pool / scheme operations. Hire computations, address commissions, demurrage and off-hire periods are tracked per charter party.
Does WHIZMarine cover marine desalination operations?
Yes. WHIZMarine supports floating and barge-mounted desalination plants — production monitoring, water-quality logs, energy consumption tracking, planned maintenance for RO/MSF/MED systems, chemical inventory, regulatory reporting and customer billing for delivered water. Used by operators providing potable water to remote islands, oil platforms and disaster-relief deployments.
Can WHIZMarine manage a shipyard?
Yes. The shipyard module covers dry-dock scheduling, repair job cards, contractor management, procurement, materials, labour booking and project costing across multiple concurrent vessels. It is in production at multiple Middle East shipyards.
Does WHIZMarine handle salvage and special marine projects?
Yes. WHIZMarine includes workflows for salvage operations (LOF awards, salved-value calculations, multi-party settlements), wreck removal, oil-spill response and special marine projects (cable-laying, offshore installation, seabed survey). Project-based accounting, multi-vessel coordination, HSE compliance and stakeholder reporting are built in.
Does WHIZMarine support offshore and oil-rig operations?
Yes. WHIZMarine handles offshore supply vessel (OSV) operations, anchor handling, platform-supply, crew-transfer and rig-move coordination. Includes contract management for upstream oil & gas clients, day-rate billing, mobilisation/demobilisation tracking, HSE / permit-to-work integration and offshore certifications.
How does WHIZMarine support marine surveyors?
WHIZMarine includes a digital marine survey workflow covering condition reports, classification society compliance, P&I and H&M inspections, statutory surveys and cargo inspections. Surveyors capture findings via tablets at the berth and reports are generated automatically.
Does WHIZMarine handle port agency and disbursement accounts?
Yes. The Ship Agency module covers the full port call — pre-arrival proforma DA, husbandry (crew change, medical, repairs, provisions), port formalities, vessel coordination, supplier invoice reconciliation, FDA generation and principal reporting. Port-tariff libraries are maintained per port for accurate cost estimation.
Is WHIZMarine integrated with WHIZCargo?
Yes. Ship agency, port call and cargo workflows are shared between WHIZMarine and WHIZCargo via the same data model — no middleware required. A ship agent's port-call record in WHIZMarine references the same cargo bookings handled in WHIZCargo. This native integration is unique among maritime software vendors.
What classification societies does WHIZMarine work with?
WHIZMarine is class-society agnostic. It carries the survey schedules, certificates and reporting requirements for the major IACS members — DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas, NK, RINA and others — and adapts to the specific society configured per vessel.
