TradeNet
TradeNet is Singapore's national single window for trade declarations, operated through Singapore Customs. Traders and their appointed declaring agents submit permit applications — for import, export and transhipment — electronically through TradeNet front-end solutions, and a single submission is routed to all the relevant controlling agencies (Customs plus dozens of other regulators) for approval.
Launched in 1989 as one of the world's first single windows, TradeNet returns approved customs permits and computes any duty and GST payable. Nothing of significance is imported into, exported from, or transhipped through Singapore without a TradeNet permit, making it the electronic backbone of Singapore's trade.
TradeNet is why Singapore clears trade so fast: one electronic submission satisfies Customs and every other controlling agency at once, instead of dozens of separate filings. For a declaring agent, clean, accurate TradeNet permits are the whole job — and the difference between goods that move and goods that sit.
