ICEGATE (Indian Customs EDI Gateway)
ICEGATE (Indian Customs EDI Gateway) is the national e-filing portal of Indian Customs (CBIC). Importers, exporters and customs brokers use ICEGATE to file and track customs documents electronically — Bills of Entry for imports, Shipping Bills for exports, Import and Export General Manifests (IGM/EGM), and duty payments.
ICEGATE is the integration hub of Indian trade: it connects Customs with banks (for duty payment), the DGFT, and dozens of Participating Government Agencies through the Single Window Interface (SWIFT). Nothing clears Indian Customs without passing through ICEGATE, making it the electronic backbone of the country's import and export.
ICEGATE is where every Indian import and export is filed, assessed and cleared. For a customs broker or trader, clean ICEGATE filing — correct classification, valuation and documents — is the whole game; errors mean queries, examination and demurrage while cargo waits.
