Bayan (Oman Customs System)
Bayan is Oman's electronic customs clearance system and single window, through which importers, exporters and brokers lodge customs declarations, obtain permits, and process clearance with Oman Customs and other relevant agencies. It provides a paperless, integrated channel for Oman's foreign-trade formalities. (Not to be confused with Saudi Arabia's separate Bayan import declaration.)
Through Bayan, traders submit the declaration and supporting documents, duties are assessed under the GCC common tariff, and goods are released subject to risk-based controls and any required approvals — including for cargo moving through Oman's free zones and the transhipment hub at Salalah. Like other Gulf single windows (Qatar's Al Nadeeb, Bahrain's OFOQ), Bayan aims to speed clearance and cut paperwork.
