Maritime & Ship Management 🇸🇬 Singapore

Tuas Port

Tuas Port is Singapore's next-generation mega-port, being developed in phases on reclaimed land at Tuas in the west of the island. It is consolidating all of Singapore's container-handling operations — currently spread across the city terminals and Pasir Panjang — into a single, highly automated port over the coming decades.

When fully completed, Tuas is planned to be one of the world's largest fully automated container terminals, with a designed capacity of around 65 million TEU a year. It makes extensive use of automation — automated guided vehicles (AGVs), automated yard cranes and remote operations — to handle that volume with a smaller footprint and workforce.

Why it matters

Tuas is a once-in-a-generation shift for the world's busiest transhipment hub: consolidating every terminal into one automated port changes berth windows, haulage routes and gate operations for everyone who moves cargo through Singapore. Planning for the move to Tuas is now part of doing business in the port.
