G-Mark
The G-Mark (Gulf Conformity Marking) is the marking that shows a product complies with the applicable technical regulations of the GCC Standardization Organization (GSO) and may be placed on the Gulf market. It applies to categories brought under GSO technical regulations — such as low-voltage electrical equipment and toys — and is conceptually similar to the European CE mark.
To carry the G-Mark, a manufacturer works through an GSO-notified body: the product is tested against the relevant Gulf Technical Regulation, a technical file and Declaration of Conformity are prepared, and (for higher-risk categories) a certificate is issued and the product may be tracked in the GSO tracking system. The mark supports market access and customs acceptance for regulated goods across the GCC states.
The G-Mark is the Gulf market-access badge for regulated products — the GCC counterpart to CE marking. For products in a regulated category, carrying it (with the supporting test file and Declaration of Conformity) is what lets them be placed on the market and accepted at customs across the Gulf states.
