Customs & Compliance 🇨🇳 China

China International Trade Single Window

The China International Trade Single Window is the national electronic platform through which traders submit their declarations and documents once, to Customs and the other government agencies involved in cross-border trade — rather than dealing with each authority separately. It streamlines customs declarations, inspection and quarantine, tax, foreign-exchange, licensing and port/logistics formalities through a single interface.

Rolled out nationally from the mid-2010s, the Single Window is now the standard channel for import and export declarations to GACC and for many related trade procedures, cutting paperwork, duplication and clearance time. It exposes standard message and API interfaces that customs brokers and trade systems integrate with to file declarations electronically. For anyone trading with China, connecting to or filing through the Single Window is the practical mechanism of customs clearance, making it central to China-facing customs and freight software.

Why it matters

The Single Window is how declarations actually reach China Customs and the other trade agencies — one electronic submission instead of many. Integrating with it is the practical requirement for clearing goods in China, so it sits at the heart of any China-facing customs or freight platform and the efficiency of China trade.
