Maritime & Ship Management 🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia

King Abdullah Port (KAP)

King Abdullah Port (KAP) is a privately developed and operated port at King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) on the Red Sea coast, north of Jeddah. It is one of the fastest-growing and most automated ports in the region, purpose-built with deep-water berths and modern container-handling technology.

As a fully private port integrated with the KAEC economic zone, KAP is part of Saudi Arabia's strategy to expand and diversify its port capacity and to develop industrial and logistics clusters around modern gateways. It complements Jeddah on the Red Sea and adds capacity on the Asia–Europe corridor.

Why it matters

King Abdullah Port shows the direction of Saudi port development — private, automated and built alongside an economic city. For shippers, it is added Red Sea capacity with modern efficiency, and a template for how the Kingdom is expanding its gateways under Vision 2030.
