GDSN

Global Data Synchronisation Network

The Global Data Synchronisation Network (GDSN) is a network of certified, interoperable data pools that lets suppliers publish standardised product master data — dimensions, weights, descriptions, images, classifications, all keyed to the GTIN and GLN — and have it delivered and kept continuously in sync with their retail and distributor customers.

Instead of every buyer collecting product data from every supplier by spreadsheet and email, each supplier maintains its data once in its data pool and any change flows automatically to all subscribed partners. GDSN underpins accurate item files for ordering, e-commerce, logistics and compliance.

Why it matters

Bad or out-of-date product data causes rejected deliveries, wrong dimensions in the warehouse and e-commerce errors. GDSN fixes it at the source: one accurate, synchronised version of each product data set, shared automatically with every partner — removing a huge amount of manual data cleansing and dispute.
