Edge Device
An Edge Device is a piece of hardware that sits at the “edge” of the network — close to where data is created — and generates, collects or processes that data locally, rather than in a central cloud. Edge devices include sensors, smart trackers, cameras, controllers, gateways and small edge servers, and range from simple data-producing nodes to capable devices that run edge computing and even on-device machine learning.
