CUSRES
CUSRES is the UN/EDIFACT message a customs authority sends back in response to a customs declaration (CUSDEC) or an advance cargo report (CUSCAR). It communicates the outcome: the submission is accepted, rejected, held for a query or documentary/physical inspection, or the goods are released. It may also carry the assessed duties and taxes and a customs reference number.
CUSRES closes the customs conversation. Automated clearance depends on it: a customs platform submits the CUSDEC/CUSCAR, then routes the CUSRES back into the workflow — releasing the shipment for delivery on acceptance, or raising an exception for the broker to resolve on a query or rejection.
