COARRI
Container Discharge / Loading Confirmation Message
COARRI is the UN/EDIFACT message exchanged between terminals and shipping lines confirming container movements at the quayside — either COARRI/LO (loaded onto a vessel) or COARRI/DI (discharged from a vessel).
This is the message that drives downstream automation: container tracking systems update their status from "in transit" to "at destination port" upon COARRI/DI, triggering customs filing, gate-out scheduling, demurrage countdown and consignee notifications. The shipping line uses COARRI to reconcile its container inventory across the global fleet.
Like COPRAR and BAPLIE, COARRI is maintained by SMDG and is a foundational message in the ocean freight EDI stack.
